Comments: Saturn was taken a little after midnight September 16, 2026 at 4:48 UT. My aim was to capture possible spokes on both sides of the rings using a 642nm red filter for maximum contrast. The first and second images were taken seven minutes apart. I didn’t expect to see any spokes in such a short time, especially since I was pretty tired. When I checked the still images, they didn’t reveal much. But once I created a two-image animation, I spotted a small spoke on the right backside of the ring. You will need to look closely. It moves at the same rate as the planet’s rotation, so it shifts quite quickly. Darn it! I should have kept imagining so the spoke could swing around the ring! I’ll give it a shot on the next clear night with more time, though there’s no guarantee the spokes will be there! Best, Frank
